Anna Z. Czapla

RUTLAND Anna Zingali Czapla, 98, of Rutland died Saturday, May 4, 2024.

Anna was born on October 17, 1925, to Basil and Nunziata (Sangriogli) Zingale. She attended St. Peter School and was a 1944 graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy. Soon after graduation, Anna began working for the State of Vermont, retiring after 59 years of service.

On December 28, 1957, she married John "Bill" Czapla at St. Peter Church. He preceded her in July 2014.

Anna was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and enjoyed shopping, travelling, and keeping in touch with her cousins in Sicily.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews Nancy (Andy) Cristelli, Joseph Zingale Jr., Michele (Rick) Jones, Laura (Mike) Jakubowski, Cathy (Fernando) Zingale, Ann Hicks, Tom (Hannah) Zingale; sisters-in law Anne Zingale of San Diego, CA, Josephine Czapla, and Sophie Czapla of Rutland; and several great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, James, Joseph, Anthony and John.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Meadows for their kindness and care shown to Anna over the past several years.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 10th at 11:00 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in West Rutland. There will be no calling hours.
