Annette Bliss

Annette Bliss, 69, of Rutland., died on February 3, 2025 at Rutland Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends.

Annette was born on June 17, 1955, in Newport,VT, the daughter of Edmond and Arlene (Hartwell) L’Esperance.

She was a graduate of Sacred High School in Newport, VT. After starting her family in Newport, she moved to Rutland where she worked at the Rutland Herald for many years before retiring from Rutland Mental Health in 2020.  She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary and Christ the King Church.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Haynes; son Brent (Jennifer) Bliss of Queensbury, NY; step-sons Jason Haynes and Justin Haynes; grandchildren Austin Bliss, Erik Bliss, Weston Haynes, Keigan Haynes, Brinley Haynes, and Jasmine Haynes; and sisters Terry L’Esperance of Littleton, NH, Rita (Norbert) Fortin of Newport, VT and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by both parents; Her first husband Steven Bliss, son Erik Bliss, sisters Claire L’Esperance, Michelle L’Esperance, and Jeanne Bates.

Calling hour will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Clifford Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Christ the King Church. A burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. There will be a reception following the funeral at the Rutland Country Club at 12:30pm.
