PROCTOR Barry James Denton, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and talented carpenter, peacefully departed from this world on March 16, 2024, liberated from his prolonged battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Born on October 26, 1950, in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, Canada, Barry was the cherished second child of James Stephen Denton and Vera Eunice (Nelson) Denton, and a cherished brother to his siblings.  He is predeceased by Alberta Johnson and Sherry Denton and survived by Lorraine Eggers, Stephen Denton, Charles Denton and Trisha Thomas. In his youth, Barry's family relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he matured, graduated from high school, and embarked on his adventures.

Barry's wanderlust led him through the Pacific Northwest and Canada, where he regaled his loved ones with captivating tales of his travels. Settling into a lifelong career in woodworking, Barry thrived in Denver, Colorado, alongside his former wife, Lila (Conway) Denton, and their daughter, Hilary Denton, during the bustling construction era of the 1970s and 1980s.

In 1989, Barry answered the call to join E.F. Wall Construction in Barre, VT, where he, Lila, and their growing family began to lay roots in Williamstown, VT. It was there that they welcomed their daughter Jessa Denton and son Casey Denton into the world. Barry's tenure with E.F. Wall and DEW Construction provided numerous opportunities to leave his mark on building projects across Vermont, blending his passion for construction with his love for art, music, and architectural design.

In 2003, Barry found lifelong companionship with Leah (Aberle) Denton, and together they nurtured a blended family in Proctor, VT, raising their son Joel Denton alongside Jessa and Casey Denton, Seth and Reid Farley, and Paige (Farley) Weiland. Barry's devotion to his family was unwavering, evident in the cherished memories created while camping, hiking Vermont trails, and sharing his love for woodworking. Barry had a deep love and appreciation for nature and was a kindhearted soul.

Barry's legacy extends beyond his professional achievements and hobbies; his unwavering faith and dedication to his loved ones remained steadfast until the end. Arrangements to honor Barry's life have been entrusted to Clifford's Funeral Home in Rutland, VT. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barry's memory may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at www.LBDA.org, ensuring that his spirit of compassion and generosity lives on. Barry's laughter, wisdom, and boundless love will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
