NORTH CLARENDON - Candy Fish, Dr. Candy Fish, 49, of Davie, FL, died Jan. 23, 2017, at her home in North Clarendon, VT, surrounded by her family and beloved dogs, Bella and Wynter.
Candy was born in Hartford, CT, on Aug. 10, 1967, the daughter of Mary L. (Gould) Fish and Charles Lyman Fish Sr.
Candy graduated from Castleton State College with a bachelor's degree in 1996, and went on to receive her master's degree and Ph.D. from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Fish was the director of student affairs for regional campuses at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Candy was very passionate about education, equality and equal pay for woman. She was founder and former president of the Nova Southeastern University branch of the American Association of University Woman (AAUW). Candy also served as the historian for the Florida Chapter for AAUW.
In her personal pursuits, Candy enjoyed traveling the world with family and friends (or anyone who was willing to explore a new destination with her). She loved spending quality time with her family (which included her dogs, Bella and Wynter, as they are considered her children).
Candy was a very spiritual person and loved to visit places that hold spiritual significance. In her lifetime, she was fortunate to have met the Dalai Lama, to have traveled to Machu Picchu, Peru, and was a regular visitor to Cassadaga, FL. She loved reading, movies and learning anything new. People sought Candy out for guidance, both spiritually and emotionally. She was one of those people who attracted souls in need of healing, and always offered her love and knowledge freely. Our lives will not be the same without her; she is missed and forever will be in the hearts of her family, friends and those whose lives she touched. Candy was a beautiful soul inside and out. WE LOVE YOU, BIG SIS, fly high with the angels.
Surviving are her mother, Mary L. Fish, of North Clarendon; a daughter, Lyric Fish; three sisters, Mary Howard, of Manchester, NH, her children, Casey Hayes, Mea Bougor and Damian Bougor, Tammy Maniery and her husband, Thomas Maniery, and their sons, Tanden Fish and Devan Maniery, Vickie Fish and fiance Talal Abouhana and their son, Souhail Abouhana; her late brother's daughters, Aymber Fish, Megan Cannon, Tara Fish and Shanna Fish; as well as many great-nieces and -nephews.
