Carol J. Whitney, 76, of Rutland died Saturday August 20, 2016 at Our House Residential Care Home in Rutland.

She was born in Pittsfield, December 13, 1939 the daughter of Robert and Avis (Merrill) Perry.

Carol was a graduate of Pittsford-Barstow High School class of 1957.

On November 28, 1958 she married Glenn Elton Whitney, Glenn died July 14, 1999.

Carol was employed with the Meals-on-Wheels Program in Rutland

Surviving are a daughter Jill Davis and husband Timothy of Bennington, a son Eric Whitney of Grand Prairie, TX, her companion of 16 years, John Sheehan of Rutland, a brother Brian Perry and wife Janet of Scottsdale, AZ, five grandchildren, Jacqueline Davis, Shannon Davis, Jason Whitney, Lindsey Whitney and Matthew Whitney 12 great grandchildren.

She was pre-deceased by her parents and her husband.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 17, 2016 at 2:00pm at The Kingdom Hall of Jahovah’s Witness Church on Cold River Rd.
