Carol M. Wilk 79, died Monday June 30, 2025 at her home in Mendon.
She was born June 2, 1946 in Rutland the daughter of Clayton and Theresa (Kurant) Bailey.
Carol was a graduate of West Rutland High School.
She was Vice President and Treasurer of Wilk Sealing.
Carol had a deep passion for exploring the world. She put herself through travel school and built a successful career running her own agency for many years. She moved on to work for a brief time at the Home Depot service desk where she made many lasting friendships and connections. In her later years she served as Vice President and Treasurer of Wilk Sealing.
Family was most important to Carol. She devotedly cared for her mother through years of illness, offering unwavering support. As her son's biggest cheerleader, she championed his snowmobile, motocross, and race car pursuits. Carol also shared a deep bond with her daughter, sailing and traveling together to countless destinations—rarely missing an opportunity to seek out new adventures.
She was an incredible cook, known for preparing traditional Polish dishes passed down from her grandmother and great-grandmother, keeping family traditions alive.
A gifted gardener, Carol had a true green thumb—her gardens were spectacular, and she had a remarkable ability to revive even the most struggling plants.
Carol approached each day with a positive spirit, starting every morning with her signature phrase: “There is no one better than you!” Strong, resilient, and full of love, Carol touched the lives of everyone around her with grace, kindness, and unwavering strength.
Survivors are her son Christopher F. Wilk, of Chittenden and Heather Sargeant, of Lyman, ME .
She was predeceased by her parents.
Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday July 8, 2025 at 11 A.M. in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in West Rutland.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rutland County Humane Society
Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home.
