She graduated from East Meadow (NY) High School. She also graduated from Becker College in Worcester, MA, after which she moved to Boston, where she worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Franz J. Ingelfinger, for many years. A part-time job with Brigham's Inc. led to a career as a product merchandiser with the company. She could make anything grow. Also very creative, she was an avid crafter. For many years, she was the director of the Rutland Area chapter of the Alzheimer's Disease Association of America, moderating support group meetings and working as a peer counselor.
