RUTLAND – Clayton B. Tanner, 84 of Rutland died April 5, 2025 at
the Rutland Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 8, 1940 in Proctor, the son of Arland Tanner and
Ella Griffin (Frappier) Tanner.
He was a member of the Vermont National Guard and he worked for 25 years at The Mead Building in Rutland as a custodian.
He is survived by his sister Nancy Guyette of NY and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and by eight brothers: Arland Tanner Jr, (Korean War), Jack Tanner, James G. Tanner, Raymond Tanner, Richard Tanner, Benedict Frappier (WWII), Robert Frappier, Victor Frappier, and by two sisters Elizabeth Derby and Judy Champagne.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday May 12, 2025 at Christ the King Church, Rutland.
A private burial will be held at a later date in the Spring. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Clayton’s memory to St. Jude’s Hospital, www.stjude.org
