David A. Plucin of Rutland Town, Vermont, passed away unexpectedly on June 3, 2026 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in West Lebanon, New Hampshire.

David, son of the late Andrew and Anne (Figaski) Plucin, was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on September 28, 1945

He graduated from Cathedral Preparatory School in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1963. David especially enjoyed attending his class reunions and staying connected with his classmates. Shortly after graduating from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 1967, he enlisted in the United States Army and graduated from Officer Candidate School. David was a Vietnam War veteran and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. After completion of his active service, he joined the United States Army Reserve and then the National Guard obtaining the rank of Major, retiring in 1991. David also had a long and successful career of 40 years at GE Erie and GE Rutland, where he served as Treasurer of the GE Rutland Activities Association, before retiring in 2006. David returned to GE Rutland for a number of years working as a private contractor.

His life was filled with extensive travel, skiing and golf.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Tina (Siira) Plucin of Rutland Town, Vermont (who would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 18, 2026); two children, his daughter Lisa of West Hurley, New York, and son Stephen (fiancée Dawn Zager) of Rutland, Vermont. David was predeceased by his sisters, Maryanne Meahl (Daniel, also predeceased) of Palm Harbor, Florida and Barbara Norland (John) of Indiana, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by sisters Joanne Friedrichs (Francis, deceased) of Orange, Connecticut and Rosemarie Hauser (John) of Spring Hill, Florida.

He is also survived by brothers-in-law Jeffrey Siira and Joel Siira, both of Erie, Pennsylvania. David is also survived by four grandchildren; Kyle Adams (Jaden) of Highland, New York; Sarah, Jacob and Matthew Plucin of Rutland, Vermont; and one great-grandson, Kaiden of Rutland, Vermont. He is also survived by several cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Clifford Funeral Home, 2 Washington Street, Rutland , Vermont. A graveside service with full military honors will follow at Trinity Cemetery in Erie, Pennsylvania at a later date.
