PROCTOR, VT — Donald Sevigny, of the age of 82, began his journey to an amazing paradise on the morning of February 13th, 2026. While his family feels the weight of his absence, they find immense peace and joy in knowing he has traveled on to be with Jesus in heaven. Throughout his life, Donald was a dedicated and hard-working member of his community. Many will remember him from working at Tambrands, Metromail, and the Brandon Training School. He also served his neighbors through his work at the Proctor skating rink and the Proctor pool. For many in Proctor, Donald will be best remembered as a familiar, friendly presence waving from his porch on South Street—a simple gesture of kindness that defined his place in the neighborhood. He originally came from West Rutland, graduated there, and was the oldest son of Victor and Ethel who ran Sevigny's Pharmacy. He is survived by his brothers, Norman and Raymond Sevigny, as well as his son Marc and Angela Sevigny, daughter Nicole and husband Chris O'Neil, and their families. Upon his arrival, Donald was joyfully reunited with his mother, father, and the rest of his family who were waiting to welcome him home. Though he will be deeply missed, his family takes great pleasure in his being able to laugh fully, sing to his heart's content, and do his silly dances he became known for. He is whole, he is happy, and he is home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday February 25, 2026 at 11 A.M. at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Richard Crawley as the celebrant.

Burial will be at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
