Donna W. Brown
October 20, 1942 – October 24, 2025
Donna W. Brown, 83, of Rutland, Vermont, passed away after a short illness on October
24, 2025. Born in Bennington on October 20, 1942, she was the youngest child of Eber
and Edna (Labshere) White. She graduated from Arlington Memorial High School and
earned an associate degree from St. Joseph Business School in Bennington.
Donna built a long and dedicated career as an executive assistant, retiring from Kinney
Pike Insurance. Outside of work, she lived a full and lively life marked by service,
community, and fun. A former President of the American Legion Auxiliary at Post 31,
she was devoted to supporting veterans and their families — and made sure every
fundraiser ran on time and had good snacks.
A lifelong bowler and proud lifetime member of the United States Bowling Congress,
Donna could usually be found at the lanes or in her garden, where both flowers and
vegetables thrived under her care. She loved to travel, cruise, and try her luck at a
casino or two. A loyal Red Sox and Bruins fan, she cheered loudly — even when they
gave her reason to grumble.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Brown; her daughter, Karen Gee; and son-in-law,
Timothy Warburton. She was predeceased by her parents and by her fifteen siblings
from the White family of East Arlington. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and
friends who will remember her quick wit, steady kindness, and the way she made every
gathering more fun.
Calling hours will be held at Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland, Vermont, at 2:00 p.m. on
November 14, 2025, with a service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at the same location.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Rutland Regional Medical Center for
their compassionate care.
Donna lived life with humor and heart — and we’re pretty sure she’s already enjoying a
great family reunion with her brothers and sisters, either playing cards (loudly) or joining
one of the White family bowling teams in heaven.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home
