Donna M. Snow of Ludlow, VT passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer on August 16, 2023 at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH at the age of 63.
She was born on January 24, 1960 in Springfield, VT to Donald E. Simonds and Anita B. Simonds (Benson). She attended school in Ludlow and was a 1978 graduate of Black River High School.
On August 22, 1985 she married Kenneth P. Snow of Ludlow, and they lived on South Hill Road for 42 years, where they raised their family. She was a very loving and nurturing mother and wife, and always thought of others before herself.
Donna worked many years in retail at Grand Union and Clark’s IGA, as a sales representative for Nabisco, as a waitress at the Echo Lake Inn and the Winchester Inn, as a realtor for Ellison Real Estate, as a pharmacy technician at Rite Aid; her favorite job was at the Green Mountain Sugar House until her illness forced her to leave.
Donna enjoyed spending time in her flower garden, summer vacations in coastal Maine, relaxing at the family camp, making her sought-after spaghetti sauce and strawberry jam with fruits from the garden, and various crafting hobbies.
Donna is survived by her loving husband Kenneth Snow; her two sons Colin J. Snow of Ludlow and Brian D. Snow (Jennifer Lowinger) of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, and her little Cockapoo buddy Dunkin. She is predeceased by both of her parents. As per her request, there will be no funeral services.
The family would like to thank all of Donna’s doctors (particularly Dr. Ilana Cass), nurses, and caregivers who supported her in her fight against cancer. They would also like to thank Ann and Doug Rose and Gerry Martel for their help during her illness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Cancer Research Fund at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, or the local humane society of one’s choice.
