Dorothy A. Falco

Dorothy A. (Ferguson) Falco, 79, of Rutland, passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 7, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothy was born Jan. 8, 1938, in Rutland, VT, the daughter of William W. Ferguson Sr. and Lillian (Warren) Ferguson.
Dorothy was a 1955 graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy. She enjoyed playing bingo, knitting, gardening, dancing and spending time with her family. Dorothy was an avid fan of Elvis Presley.
In September 1958, she married her first and only love, Augusto Falco, at Christ the King Parish, where she was a longtime member.
Dorothy worked several years for the Rutland News Co.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Rist and husband Kevin, of Cumberland City, Tennessee, and Linda Falco-LaPre and husband Joseph Leeroy LaPre, of Rutland; two sons, Michael Falco Sr. and wife Nancy, of Rutland, and David Falco, also of Rutland. Dorothy is also survived by six grandchildren, Jamie VanGuilder, Kimberly Rumrill, Michael Falco Jr., Tamara McGraw, Breanna LaPre, of Rutland, and Stephanie Akordor, of Chicago, Illinois. Her loving great-grandchildren are Hunter and Brylie McGraw, Amelia and Augustina Akordor, Austin Michael Dunn and Camden Rumrill. She is also survived by her two brothers, Thomas Ferguson and wife Debra, of Rutland, and Richard Ferguson Sr. and wife Sharon, of Fair Haven; one sister, Barbara Oney and husband Robert, of Rutland; and several nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews and cousins.
Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, Augusto Falco; her parents, William and Lillian Ferguson; a sister, Patricia Roundy, and a brother, William Ferguson Jr.; and twin infant granddaughters, Kristi Lee and Kristine Marie VanGuilder.
There are no visiting hours.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Christ the King Church in Rutland. Officiating will be Rev. Msgr. Bernard Bourgeois, pastor.
A reception will follow.
