Edith V. Ley

Edith V. Ley, 98 years of age died February 21, 2020 in Rutland.

Edith was born in Rutland, December 3, 1921 the daughter of Giovanni and Grazia (Russo) Calvano.

Edith was the head cashier at Woolworths for 12 years.

She was a lifetime member of Saint Peter's Church and a member of the Sodality of the Most Holy Rosary.

Surviving are 3 sons, Robert E. Ley of Florida, Richard J. Ley of Clarendon and Thomas Ley of Indiana; 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Earl J. Ley in 1986; 2 sons, John Ley in 2017 and James Ley in 2015; a daughter, Grace Reed in 2012; a brother, James Calvano in 1972, a sister, Teresa McPhee in 2000; 5 infant brothers and an infant sister.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Saturday March 7, 2020 in St. Peter’s Church. Burial will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
