Elaine C. Duffy

Elaine C. Duffy, 83, died January 18, 2025, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Elaine was born November 22, 1941, in Granville, NY, the daughter of John and Charlotte (Roberts) Jones.

Elaine received her early education in Poultney, graduating from Poultney High School in 1959. She continued her education at Castleton College, graduating in 1963. She taught in Argyle, Tinmouth, and Castleton, but did the majority of her 35 years of teaching at Lake George Central School, Lake George, NY.

Elaine married Tom Duffy in 1988, and they made their home in Wells, VT. They both were animal lovers, caring for numerous pets over the years. Lucky, a beagle they adopted, after he was seriously injured, held a special place in her heart.

Elaine enjoyed crafts, reading, puzzles, trips to Maine, sports events, and time spent with friends.

Elaine is survived by her sister Evelyn Ritchie of Tinmouth.

She was predeceased by both parents, her husband, Tom Duffy, her sister Marlene Jones, and her brother-in-law Larry Ritchie.
