Eric Julias Baker: April 6th, 1978 - July 14th, 2025
It is with immense sadness and pain that the family of Eric J. Baker, of Hampton NY, announces his unexpected passing as he was called home to be with the Lord, on July 14th, 2025 at the age of 47.
He was born April 6th, 1978 to Ronald G. Baker and Deborah A. Johnson in Rutland, VT.
Eric is survived by his best friend and the love of his life, Amber; his two beautiful daughters who he was proud of and loved beyond measure, Abigail Baker (Clay) of Rutland VT and Brooke Baker (Peyton) of Hampton NY; his two stepdaughters, Rylee and Chloe Hawkins of Hampton NY; his mom, Deborah A. Johnson of Rutland VT; his sister Shanna Baker (Paul) of Argyle NY; his sister Kara (Baker) Kelley (Heath) of West Rutland, VT; his niece Aliza Roberts (Cameron) of Fort Ann, NY; his two nephews Anthony Baker of Rutland VT, and Kaleb Kelley of West Rutland VT; a great nephew, Luka; many cousins, friends and extended family members who he loved dearly.
Eric was a loving father, an amazing and wonderful husband, bad*** uncle, caring son, a devoted brother and friend.
To know Eric was to love him. Anyone who was lucky enough to know Eric, knew that he had a larger than life personality and would do anything to make people laugh and put a smile on their face. He would give the shirt off his back even if it meant he had nothing. He could make friends anywhere he went because he never judged anyone.
He was a member of the Mill River Union High School, class of 95/96. After school, he went to work with his Dad, Ronnie, at Markowskis. Eric then started his career as a driller working for Maine Drilling & Blasting for just shy of 30 years before going to Yankee Drilling. If Eric wasn’t putting in the long, hard hours, drilling for Yankee, you’d likely find him at “The Shed” with his friends who became family, boating, snowmobiling, racing or wrenching in his garage on his hot rods.
Eric had the deepest passion for race cars, hot rods and going fast which he gained from his late father, Ronnie.
He will be loved and missed so deeply by his family and friends.
There will be no calling hours or services, however, there with be a Celebration of Eric’s Life on August 23rd, 2025 from 3-9 at the Elks Ball field: 2742 CR-12 Whitehall, NY 12887.
