WEST RUTLAND - Frances "Frannie/Grammie" G. Flynn, 82, died peacefully Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, in West Rutland.
She was born Jan. 30, 1935, in Rutland, the daughter of Paul Joseph and Anna (Drapola) Gawet.
Frannie was a Mount St. Joseph Academy graduate.
She was employed at the Center Rutland Post Office and with CVPS. She enjoyed being a lister for the town of West Rutland for 30 years, retiring in 2014.
She attended St. Bridget's Church in West Rutland and was a scripture reader for the church for many years.
She was a member of the West Rutland American Legion Unit 87 Women's Auxiliary.
She enjoyed camping, traveling to Maine, Florida and Ireland. She also enjoyed spending time at her camp at Lake Bomoseen and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved the outdoors, mowing, gardening and planting flowers. She was a Cub Scout leader and a den mother. She enjoyed working the Elks Club bingo concession in Rutland and the American Legion in West Rutland.
Surviving are three sons, Chris Flynn and his wife, Carrie, of West Rutland, Steve Flynn and his wife, Patty, of West Rutland, and David Flynn, of Concord, NH; four grandchildren, Gina Mondella, Logan Flynn, Josie Flynn and Riley Flynn.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Flynn, in 1988; and her brother, Joseph Gawet.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at St. Bridget's Church. A burial will be held at a later date in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Monday, Feb. 20, from 4-7 p.m. at the Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
