Frank J. Salengo, Jr.

Frank J. Salengo, Jr., 57, died unexpectedly on June 7, 2025.  He was born on November 16, 1967, the eldest child of Frank, Sr., and Marguerite (Bruce) Salengo.  He graduated from West Rutland High School in 1985.  Frank then graduated from Castleton College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and an Associate’s Degree in Business Management.

He was Lead Programmer/Systems Analyst at Moore Corporation-Systems Division for many years before joining GE Aerospace in Rutland, VT where he has been for the past 20 years.  Frank was Staff Application Operations Engineer on the Digital Technology Team.  He was very proud to have been involved in the start of the Robotics Team.  He developed and supported over 120 custom built applications for some of the most complex sites in the world and was developing new apps every day.  Frank made an impact on every place in the world that had a GE engine.

Frank was a communicant and volunteer at Saint Stanislaus Kostka Church in West Rutland.  He also volunteered at numerous community events and was a member of the Moose Club, Italian Aid Society, the WRHS Alumni Association, and was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus.

Hunting, fishing, and target practice were activities he enjoyed in his spare time.  Growing tomatoes and peppers was a favorite summer hobby.  His coleslaw and meatballs were his specialty during family gatherings, and he loved to cook for friends, family, and co-workers.

Frank, Jr., is survived by his mother Marguerite of West Rutland, brother Steven of St. Petersburg, FL, and sister Julie of Glens Falls, NY along with niece Briana and nephews Justin and Nicholas.  He is also survived by many beloved aunts and cousins.  He was predeceased by his father Frank Salengo, Sr. in 2013.

The family gives their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the American Legion Post 87, Rutland Regional Ambulance Service, West Rutland Fire Department and the many individuals who provided assistance in his time of need.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 11 from 2 to 6 pm at the Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 12 at 11 am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in West Rutland with burial to follow.  Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home.
