Gail McGrath
Gail A. (Ready) McGrath, 60, of West Rutland passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at Rutland Regional Medical Center with her family at her side.
She was born in Burlington, August 15, 1954 the daughter of Donald and Barbara (Tudhope) Ready.
Her childhood was something that she always spoke of fondly. She spent summers on the shore of Lake Champlain at the family's cottages on Mallet's Bay.
Days were spent swimming, and playing on the shore, collecting sea glass and golf balls that had strayed from a nearby golf course.
In the winters she enjoyed skiing Smuggler’s Notch, and working at The Deer Run Lodge, her family's ski lodge and popular local restaurant in Jeffersonville, Vermont.
Gail was a graduate of Lamoille Union High School class of 1972.
In 1981 she met the love of her life, Robert T. McGrath. Together they raised three children, and on October 27, 1991 they married.
In 1989 Gail fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening The Stonebridge Inn in Poultney, as a bed and breakfast. It was there that she showcased her amazing cooking ability and impeccable talent for decorating.
Gail was Vice President of Mountain Green Rental Management Company, which she ran with her husband since 1987.
She thoroughly enjoyed Vermont's four seasons and spent much time walking, gardening, boating, and skiing. She also loved to travel to the ocean.
Gail attended church regularly. Her faith in the Lord gave her strength, and most of all hope. She was a true inspiration to all.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her two beloved granddaughters, Ella Rose and Sophia Paige. Gail was truly beautiful inside and out.
She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband Robert of West Rutland, two sons, Brent A. Turner of Killington and Jacob J. McGrath and his wife Bonnie Badgewick of Woodstock, and their daughter Sophia Paige;
