George was a man’s man who worked hard and, in his younger years, played even harder.
George A. Elliott, 77, of Proctor, passed away on July 22, 2026, at Rutland Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 8, 1949, the son of Rudolph and Mary Jane (Ketcham) Elliott.
George graduated from Harwood Union High School in Duxbury, Vermont, in 1969. Throughout his career, he worked at T&T Tractor (John Deere) in Proctor and Sugarbush Resort in Warren before joining General Electric, where he remained for 39 years until his retirement.
George was a man’s man who worked hard and, in his younger years, played even harder. He said what he meant and meant what he said. Throughout his life, he proudly filled many roles: farmer, mechanic, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. Above all, George was all MOPAR.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jean Elliott; his children, Kristi L. (John) Brown and Korey D. (Nikki) Elliott; his grandchildren, Noah Brown, Kaiya Brown, Wyatt Elliott, and Collin Elliott; his siblings, Jane Elliott, Betsy Elliott, Joseph Elliott, Roberta Elliott, Elsie (Steve) Sherrill, Kaureen (Bill) Stickney, and Deborah Eno; and many extended family members and friends.
George was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Robert Elliott and Rudy Elliott.
In accordance with George’s wishes, there will be no public services.
