Giovannina Dellveneri

RUTLAND Giovannina (Piccolo) Dellveneri, 82, of Rutland, VT, died on December 4, 2024 at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Giovannina was born on April 11, 1942 in Valle Di Maddaloni, Italy, the daughter of Pasquale and Marra Ana Piccolo.  She grew up in Italy and immigrated to America in 1970, becoming a widow shortly thereafter and raising two small children on her own.

Known to her friends as Jenny, Giovannina enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.  She was a talented seamstress and crafter, and was often sharing plants from her garden with friends to grow in their own.

Jenny worked at Val’s Hobby Shop on Meadow Street for many years, and later took a job at the Rutland Price Chopper, where she worked in the deli and bakery departments for over 20 years.

Survivors include her son James Dellveneri of Colchester, VT, daughter Susy Bias and son-in-law James Bias of San Francisco, CA, and sister Ines Piccolo of Caserta, Italy. She was predeceased by both parents, her husband Dominic Dellveneri in 1975, and by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Calling hours will be from 10:30am-12:00pm followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Clifford Funeral Home. A burial service will take place in the spring.
