Glenn Steven Carvey 54 of Rutland, VT passed away July 19, 2023 due to a sudden
unexpected brief illness at UVM with his wife, Christine by his side. Glenn was born May 18,
1969 in Rutland, VT the son of Edward Thomas, Jr and Edna Ethel (Vanguilder) Carvey.
Glenn attended local schools at Christ the King and Rutland High, Glenn continued his
education in the years that followed by completing numerous certifications to become a certified
Sto applicator, in the years that followed he changed directions and became interested in
general contracting in the construction industry. He continued in this field until he became ill in
April, 2023.
Glenn was a friend to everyone, his kindness and thoughtfulness was always recognized by
those that new him, he truly had a heart of gold and cared for everyone, a genuine man with
manners, who loved his family unconditionally and his beloved pups Sasha and Carolina, aka
KK
Glenn had much love for the outdoors and he would spend his free time fishing, hunting, and
panning for gold, and liked to be involved in the demolition derbies during the Vermont State
Fair, going for rides in the country with his wife, he new EVERY back road in Rutland, so there
was no chance of getting lost Glenn also enjoyed riding motorcycles. Glenn was a quiet man
but would always say it like it was and never felt ashamed of it .
Glenn married, Christine Porchesa-Carvey August 8, 1998 at Staint Peter's Church in Rutland,
Vermont. Glenn and Christine would've celebrated 25 years of marriage this August.
Glenn is predeceased by his mother, Edna Carvey in 1995, his grandparents Edward Carvey Sr
and Virginia Gray, Walter and Helen (Hogue) Vanguilder. his sister-in-law, Melissa Mahoney
Carvey in 2022, and his devoted dog Sasha, in 2023. In addition to his wife, Christine, he is
survived by two sons Justin Duncan of Frederick, Maryland and Jarred Keefe, of Rutland,
Vermont. Four granddaughters, Savannah, Jamie, Allyiah and Mayzie. Three grandsons,
Damon, Jarred Jr. and Kolton. A sister Linda Cathcart and her husband, Robert of Gaffney,
South Carolina. A brother Jayson Carvey of Emmitsburg, Maryland. Robert Withington and his
wife Michelle of Rutland, Vermont. Two nieces Jonelle O'Brien and her husband Trevor, of
Fayetteville, North Carolina, Kaysha Coccia of Rutland, Vermont, four nephews, Jordon Carvey,
Ian Cathcart both of Rutland, Vermont. Julian Provost of Burlington, Vermont and Christian
Carvey of Rutland, Vermont. Several Aunt's, Uncles and great neices and nephews and his
beloved dog Carolina.
Glenn will be truly missed by all that new and loved him, may he rest in peace, he will forever be
remembered in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held Friday July 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Staint Peter's Parish, Rutland,
Vermont immediately following will be the graveside burial at Hillside Cemetery, Castleton,
Vermont. A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion, Rutland, Vermont from
3:00-6:00 PM, July 28, 2023.
