Irene Crossmon

Irene (Pawlusiak) Crossmon, 81, of Rutland, Vermont, peacefully passed away on October 23, 2026. She was born in Rutland, VT, on February 22, 1945, to Stephen and Pauline (Pomykala) Pawlusiak.

She graduated from Mount Saint Joseph, class of 1962. Throughout her career, Irene worked as a secretary at Rutland Regional Medical Center, for the US government, and for John Hanson.

Irene enjoyed watching the New England sports teams, the Patriots and the Celtics. She also enjoyed trips to the ocean and the casino. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Irene is survived by her husband of 57 years, Walter, as well as her son, William, and his wife, Sarah, of Pittsford, VT. She is also survived by her sisters, Joanne Czachor of Castleton, VT, and Mary Nugent of Buffalo, NY, as well as five grandchildren: Brennon, Owen, Carter, Camryn, and Sawyer Crossmon. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Theresa LaFrance, and her son, Stephen.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass on Thursday, November 5th, at 11:00 at Christ the King Church in Rutland, VT. A private burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Irene’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
