Janet S. Franzoni

Janet S. Franzoni, 99, of Rutland, passed away peacefully Sunday morni n g , March 12, 2017, surrounded by family and loving staff at her home at The Gables in Rutland.

She was born in Burlington on Feb. 19, 1918, the daughter of Harold and Emma Slocum.

Janet graduated from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, with a major in fashion design. On June 15, 1944, she married Bob Franzoni. She enjoyed reading, sewing and her family. She is remembered for her quiet kindnesses and her limitless generosity.

Surviving are two sons: Bob Franzoni and his wife, Debby, of Castleton, and David Franzoni and his wife, Nancy, of Malibu, CA; two grandchildren: Alec Franzoni, of Fort Ticonderoga, NY, and Hudson Henry, of Malibu; seven nieces and nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert S. Franzoni, who died April 8, 2000; by a sister, Emily Jennison, and a brother, John Slocum.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home.
