John F. Jozwiak

John Francis Jozwiak---Proctor.  John Francis Jozwiak, 75 died at his home May 16, 2025.The son of John Stanley Jozwiak and Doreen (Miller) Jozwiak. He graduated from MSJ in 1968. John was a very hard worker. Started working at the age of 15 for William Butler at his market. He started Jozwiak Snowplowing, and continued with Jozwiak Construction, running this business until his death.  John was a Vietnam Vet, Army, first Class with an Honorable Discharge.  He was a member of the Rutland Town Fire Department, joined when he was 17. In his hometown of Proctor he was, Member of the Proctor Fire Department, Selectmen, Health Officer, Regional Trans Council rep & RCSWD rep & water/ sewer board. John loved to hunt and to wheel and deal.

John is survived by his two sisters, Sharron Jozwiak of Center Rutland, Anita Bizzarro (Chuck brother-in-law) of Rutland Town, Nephews Stasu Bizzarro of Queensbury NY and Scott Bizzarro of Poultney.  A true friend for over 50 years was Doug Casella, John Casella and the Casella Family and staff of at Casella’s.

He was predeceased by his parents, His fiancé Nanci Curtis in 2019.
