Joseph P. Hoague

PORT RICHEY, FL Joseph P. Hoague “Pete”, 76, died on July 27, 2024 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center surrounded by family.

Pete was born in Rutland on July 15, 1948, the son of Joseph A. and Gloria (Thomas) Hoague. Pete attended Poultney High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boxing, he loved his farm in Hampton, but most of all, he loved and was very proud of his children. Pete served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Vietnam war.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian (Stone) Hoague; sons Corey (Erika) Hoague of Whitehall, NY and Lucas (Andrea) Hoague of Saratoga, NY; daughter Meghan (Travis) Stocker of Spring Hill, FL; step-daughters Stacy Murray, Jamie Speed, and Stephanie Short; grandchildren Triston Hoague, Alexis Hoague, Colton Stocker, and Logan Stocker; and by several step-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by both parents; step-daughters Shelly Murray; and grandson John Hoague.

A memorial service will be at 12PM Saturday August 10, 2024 at Saint Raphael’s Cemetery in Poultney.

A reception will follow at the Poultney American Legion.
