Judy Greeno Congdon, 78, died peacefully on February 14, 2025 at RRMC with family by her side. She had complications from Parkinson's.
She was born on February 9, 1947, in Rutland, VT, the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Smiel) Greeno Sr.
Judy graduated from Otter Valley Union High School in 1965 and from Castleton University with Great Distinction, Class of 1987, with a BA in Forensic Psychology.
On Aug 13, 1977, she married Edwin Congdon of Clarendon, VT.
Judy had worked for Smith Buick as the Assistant Service Manager and Departments Coordinator as well as the Assistant Service Manager at Automobile International. She worked as a counselor for Rutland County Court Diversion for several years until becoming the co-founder and Executive Director of Family Unity Services (FUSS), a program for unmanageable and at-risk teens and their families. Before retirement she spent several years as a Para-Educator at Mill River Union High School.
Judy enjoyed cards, games, and camping as well as teaching her grandchildren how to cook. She especially loved boating on Lake Champlain and traveling the U.S. and Canada in their RV with their close friends, Bill and Peg Harvey.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin Congdon; two step-children, Travis (Dagmar) Congdon of Charlestown, NH, and Alana (Tracy) Kennedy of Wallingford; 4 grandchildren, Tiffany and Kylie Congdon and Alyssa and Tyler Kennedy; great-grandson Boone Daher; brother Clarence (Donna) Greeno Jr.; her uncle Jack Smiel, beloved cousin Diane Deering, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by both parents.
Calling hours will be held from 12:00-2:00pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Clifford Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the VFW at 15 Wales St. A burial service will take place in the spring.
