Listen to Obituary

Linda Trudelle passed away in the early morning hours on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at the age of 85.

To leave this earth on The Lord’s Day and Mother’s Day of all days is symbolic of her life and legacy. She was the oldest of four girls and raised in a devoutly Catholic home. She was valedictorian of her high school and spent a short time in the convent after graduation.

Later, she would marry and have her only son, Christopher, whom she loved unconditionally for all the days of her life. She never identified as a feminist but she lived a bold and fearless life, well advanced of her time.

When the church didn’t believe in her right to divorce or her ability to lead, she left, earned her master’s degree, became an ordained minister and missionary for many years in Africa. Her love for God was unmatched. The only thing that came close was her love for her granddaughters, Sophie and Violet. Linda spent the last decade of her life with Alzheimer’s disease.

Before the disease completely transformed her mind, she expressed a desire to go home to God but accepted his plan for her life and death.

That plan was for the rest of us was to figure out how to love and show up for her even when she could no longer respond to us. We would agree that we failed and succeeded in various ways in caring for her.

Thank you for the love and the lessons. Goodnight mom, you finally get to go home now.
