Lisa A Lapre

RUTLAND                 Lisa (Vanasse) LaPre, 81, of Rutland, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family who cherished every moment with her.

Lisa was born on October 23, 1942 in Quebec, Canada, into a family of 13 children. She was the 9th child to bring happiness to Oscar and Bernadette (Richard) Vanasse.

Lisa was educated at Ayer’s Cliff in Canada. She opted for a childcare course at the St. Vincent de Paul Sherbrooke Hospital working with newborn babies. She graduated from nursing school in 1961 and served several years until her retirement at Rutland Region Medical Center.

Lisa married her first and only love, Raoul LaPre on December 26, 1961. They lived in Florida for several years then returned to Vermont.

Lisa was a devoted mother to her children and they will find comfort in knowing that Lisa’s legacy lives on through the lessons she taught them, the love she shared, and the memories they will cherish forever.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Raoul LaPre; sons Claude “C.R.” LaPre and wife Diane of NH and Joseph “LeeRoy” LaPre and wife Linda of Rutland; daughter Lynn DiPietro and husband Eddie of NH; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were precious to Lisa and her pride and joy.

“Nous t’aimons maintenant, pour toujours et toujours jusqu’ á ce que nous nous revoyions.”

A memorial service and will be held on Saturday July 27, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ the King Church in Rutland. A celebration of life will follow in the parish hall. Officiating will be Father Xavier Raj.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Raoul LaPre at 9 Billings Mobile Manor, Rutland, VT 05701.
