Marianne Helene Vacca
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marianne Helene Vacca, who left us on April 19, 2025, at the age of 89. Marianne was born on July 28, 1935, in Berlin, Germany, where she met Frank while he was stationed there in the Army. They were married and her adventurous spirit led her to leave Germany in 1956 to begin a new life with her husband, Frank. One of her fondest memories was hearing the song “Auf Wiedersehen” as she left Berlin on the train.
Marianne was known for her kindness, wisdom, wit and sense of adventure. To know her was to experience her unwavering warmth, infectious sense of humor, and boundless generosity. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, always ready with a listening ear, a kind word, or a comforting hug.
Marianne successfully ran two small businesses with her husband, and found joy in many hobbies such as knitting, sewing, baking, and crafting. She was infamous for her clowns and Mrs. Beasley dolls which she sold at craft sales. She was an avid gardener, with both flower and vegetable gardens. She loved playing games, would never turn down a game of Scrabble or Rummikube, and she always had a crossword and jigsaw puzzle in progress.
Marianne’s focus in life was caring for her family and nurturing those around her. Family was the heart of Marianne’s world. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and most recently great-grandmother. She shared 69 beautiful years of marriage with Frank Vacca, building a life rich with love, laughter, adventure, and cherished traditions. Together, they raised three daughters, Mary-Anne, Rebecca, and Heidi, who will forever carry her love, wisdom, and lessons in their hearts.
Marianne is survived by her devoted husband, Frank Michael Vacca; her daughters, Mary-Anne Sedlock, Rebecca Evans (husband Michael Evans), and Heidi Morosini (partner Steve Burks), her grandchildren, Heather Constantinople (partner Charles Martin), Joshua Sedlock (wife Megan Sedlock), Alicia Sedlock, and Dylan Morosini; her great-granddaughter, McKenna Sedlock; and her nieces and nephews Kim Gosselin (husband Don Gosselin), Monika Ferguson, Rita Goldberg, Louise Uva (husband Vito Uva), Mike Vacca (wife Brenda Vacca), Nancy Vacca and Uwe Richter (wife Susann Richter). There are many more treasured family and friends, as well. She will be fondly remembered by all who had the joy of knowing her.
