Marjory Perkins

Marjory Perkins, age 85, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Born July 20, 1931, in Rutland, Vermont, Marjory was the daughter of Craig and Mary Perkins of Mendon. From her early years as a lifeguard and swimming instructor at the Rutland Pool, through her graduation with a theater arts degree from Boston's Emerson College, Marjory always planned to become an actress. However, she put that pursuit on hold when she married Eugene Roche, of Boston, and began a family, which eventually grew to nine children.
Over the years, Marjory and her family traveled the country, living for a time in both New York and California. Marjory eventually wound up back in her hometown of Rutland where she resided the last 30 years. Marjory loved to own and drive convertibles, raised llamas, and enjoyed improving properties, adding her sense of whimsy and unique style to all the homes she flipped. She loved animals, art and mysticism, and had a wry sense of humor.
Marjory is survived by her six boys and three girls, Jamie, Sean, Chad, Tara, Megan, Brogan, Liam, Eamonn and Caitlin; and 12 grandchildren; as well as two brothers, Peter and Robert. Her sister, Dorothy Godnick, predeceased her.
Marjory's family would like to thank all the compassionate caregivers at Bayada, Rutland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, The Gables and Meadows, as well as Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 24, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Church in Rutland. Burial will be at a later date in Tenney Cemetery in Mendon.
The Clifford Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
