Martha Jane Buck, aged 68, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 27, 1957, in Rutland, Vermont, Martha lived a life filled with cherished memories and deep connections with those around her.
Martha was a proud graduate of West Rutland High School, where she not only excelled academically but also found joy in playing summer league softball. Her love for the outdoors was evident through her passions for fishing, hunting, and bird watching, activities that allowed her to connect with nature and appreciate the simple pleasures of life.
In 1996, Martha met John Buck, the love of her life, and the couple wed on July 28 of that year. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising two sons, Joseph and Ryan McNamara. Their family was marked by memorable vacations to Florida, numerous visits to lakeside camps, and a shared love for camping that created lasting bonds and joyful experiences.
In addition to her roles as a wife and mother, Martha successfully ran her own house cleaning business for many years, demonstrating her strong work ethic and dedication to providing for her family.
Martha is survived by her devoted husband, John Buck, and their two sons, Joseph and Ryan McNamara. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Tom (Kathy) Buck and Dave (Jackie) Buck, along with beloved nieces and nephews, including Kristen Buck, Clayton Buck, Kerrie Buck, Daniel Buck, Kiara Ayers, Noah Buck, and Delilah Buck.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Jim Harrison, her parents-in-law, Robert and Natalie Buck, and her grandparents, Florence and Edward McNamara.
A graveside service to honor Martha's life will take place in the spring of 2026 at St. Bridget Cemetery in West Rutland. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, a testament to a life well-lived and the love she shared with those around her.
