Martha (Marty) Veno Brandon - Martha Jean Veno 60, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on November 11, 2025. Marty was born August 14, 1965 in Rutland to Jack and Ginny Veno. She has been an indomitable spirit since the day she arrived. Marty spent her life being an example of how to live one's life to the fullest. She was part of the first Pre-school class for "Rutland Mental Health", spent summers at Silver Towers Camp and Camp Thorpe. She met super stars like Whitney Houston, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, and even performed with the group Up With People when they were in Rutland. She conducted the Vermont Youth Symphony not because she was supposed to but because no one told her she couldn't. Her giant box full of Special Olympics medals is another tribute to her spirit....after having fallen and broken her neck at the age of 6 she missed one year of competition only to return to the medal stand the following summer....No one told her she couldn't. She leaves behind her parents Jack and Ginny Veno of Poultney, her sister Ginny of Rutland, and her best friend and sister Patty Bartlett (Tim)of Clarendon and nieces Emma and Adrienne. She is also survived by her caregivers Doug and Nicki Mohan of Brandon.
Mass will be held At St. Peter Church, Friday November 21,2025 at 11Am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A Celebration of Life at the Rutland Country Club following internment.
