Mary Rutkowski Muzzi – 2/1/1924 – 9/27/2016

Mary Muzzi, at age 92, demonstrated incredible bravery and spirit in the face of cancer. She rose above it and lived her life on her own terms. Mary believed in God’s grace and goodness, and that upon entering heaven she would be whole again. She looked forward to a reunion with her beloved family members and friends that included dancing, laughter, bowling, blueberry picking, and singing to her heart’s content.

Mary was born and raised in Rutland and graduated from Rutland High School. Her life was filled with numerous adventures including attending modeling school and working at the Pentagon, Rutland City Hall, and the Rutland Fire Dept.

Mary married the love of her life, Larry Muzzi in 1965. Mary loved to bowl, enjoyed traveling, and cherished spending time with her brother Mike. But it was her unwavering faith in God, her strong will to live life to its fullest, and her love for all those who accepted her unconditionally that were unshakable. One of her favorite sayings was, “Why waste your time worrying, because God is in control.”

She received a Certificate of Appreciation from the American Legion Auxiliary as well as a twenty five year Certificate of Merit from the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America.

Mary is currently rejoicing in heaven with her husband, Larry, her parents, Wladislaw and Antonina (Eablonka) Rutkowski, and siblings Chester, Johnny, Genevieve, Anne, Agnes, Bill, Helen, Charlotte, and Mike.

Mary leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, along with many dear friends.

Special thanks to Dr. Eisemann, RAVNAH Hospice, Trudy Billings, and At Home Senior Care for seeing her as a strong and vibrant person and not just as a cancer patient.
Funeral services will be held Saturday October 1, 2016 at 1:00pm at St. Peters Church in Rutland. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
