Mary Catherine Smith, 85, of Rutland, passed away at her home on October 20th, 2026. She was born in Rutland, VT, on January 2nd, 1941, to Thomas and Loretta (nee Kennedy) Mulhern.

Mary lived her entire life in Vermont. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, and being with Dylan, Brendan, Jake, and Molly brought her great joy. The summer family reunions were a special highlight for her, when her children and grandchildren gathered together as a family. 

Mary is survived by her children, Brian (Lisa) Smith, Timothy Smith, and Kimberly Goodger; grandchildren, Dylan Smith, Brendan Smith, Jake Goodger, and Molly Goodger; as well as other family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Smith; and her parents, Thomas and Loretta Mulhern.

A celebration of life and burial to be held in the spring of 2027 will be announced at a later date.
