Castleton –Maurice M. McLaughlin

Maurice M. McLaughlin 86, died June 17, 2025 at Rutland Regional Medical Center with family by his side.

He was born January 18, 1939 in Rutland the son of Henry and Nora (Fitzgerald) McLaughlin.

Maurice graduated in 1956 from MSJ and enlisted in the US Army.

He was employed for many years as a machine operator at Moore Business Forms in Rutland. After retirement, he volunteered at RRMC.  Moe was proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed many trips to Ireland.  He was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed playing golf, fishing and spending time at the Lake Bomoseen cottage with family.

Survivors include his children, Jeffrey Mclaughlin, Colleen (Tim) Loveland, Gregory McLaughlin, grandchildren Kylie (Rijad) Mezetovic and Nicholas Loveland, great grandchildren Maddox and Mia and his sister, Helen Anderson. He is also survived by Shannon Sinon, her daughter McKenna Ludden and Bill McNamara, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, his siblings, Henry Jr., Gerald, James, Anne, Sheila, Kathleen and Claire.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 10 A.M. at St. John’s Catholic Church, Castleton, with the Rev. Julian Asucan as the celebrant.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Rutland.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
