Michael J. Bissitte Sr.

RUTLAND

Michael J. Bissitte Sr., 72, of Rutland Town, died on February 16, 2025 at Springfield Health and Rehab.

He was born on September 2, 1952, in Rutland, VT, the son of John and Vivian (Cummings) Bissitte.

He attended Mount Saint Joseph High School.

Michael served in the U.S. military in Vietnam.

He worked as a lumberman for Rutland Plywood Company.

Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Mary (Hilder) Bissitte; son Michael and daughter-in-law Nicole Bissitte; daughter Robin Ragins.  His grandchildren: Ethan and Kaleb Marchinkowski, Taylor and Cooper Bissitte, Sierra Bartlett, Carmen and Charisma Ragins and great granddaughter, Kahlani Carranza.

He was predeceased by both parents; brothers John Bissitte, Alfred Bissitte and George Bissitte, sister Mary Alger; and half-brother Robert Hartwell and son-in-law Jerome Ragins.

A celebration of life will be held on June 21, 2025, at 3pm at Mike & Nicole’s house:

106 Clarendon Ave., West Rutland, VT.
