Michael A. Stone

Rutland, VT-   Michael A. Stone, 74, of Rutland died Dec. 06, 2023, unexpectedly at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Born October 10, 1949 in Gardner, MA he was the son of Anthony Stone and Lena (Bourgeois) Stone. He was raised in Gardner and attended Gardner High School where he played football and graduated in 1968.  He moved to Vermont where he met his future wife Donna O’Bryan and married in 1970. After working in various trades he became a licensed plumber and spent most of his career working for Economy Plumbing and Heating of NH.  He eventually retired as a project manager for BREMCO, Inc. of Newport, NH.

Michael had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, RC Airplanes and competition target shooting. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his two grandsons and was a fulltime caregiver to his loving wife Donna.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Stone; a son, Jason Stone; a daughter, Jamie Mallor and her husband Neal of South Carolina; a grandson, Malcom Hooper of NY; a grandson, Jasper Stone and his mother Hillary Simpson of NH: a brother, Alan Stone and his wife Colleen of NH; a nephew, two nieces, many relatives and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 16th at 12PM at the Elks Lodge in Rutland, VT.
