Michele (Mulcahey) Young, 75, of Rutland, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026. A lifelong resident of Rutland, Michele devoted her life to her family, her community, and to helping others.
She was the beloved mother of Alicia (Brett) Sematore of Plymouth, Ma and Edmond Young of North Clarendon; and the cherished grandmother of Oliver J. Sematore of Plymouth, Ma.
She is also survived by her sisters, Maureen (Guy) Paradee and Madelyn (Donald) Kapitan, both of Sudbury; as well as her loving nieces and nephews Melissa, Colin, Ian, and Eisley Paradee, and Sean and Kevin M. Mulcahey and their families.
She was predeceased by her parents, Bernard and Barbara (Barrett) Mulcahey; her brothers, Bernard (“Skip”) and Kevin J. Mulcahey; and her sister, Joanne Mulcahey.
Michele dedicated many years to serving the children of her community through her work at Abraham Lincoln School. She later continued her spirit of service while working at The Vermont Country Store, where her generosity and philanthropy touched many local organizations. Along with her brother “Skip”, she also found great meaning in sending gratitude and support to troops serving overseas.
Michele will be remembered as a woman of humble beginnings who gave selflessly and wholeheartedly to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for others will leave a lasting legacy.
A funeral service will be held at Christ the King Church at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 with burial to immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
