Patricia L. Griffin

Patricia L. Griffin, 88, of Rutland, Vermont, died May 06, 2019 after residing at the Gables in Rutland for a short period of time. She previously had lived in Pittsford, Vermont for 25 years.

She was born on March 4, 1931, in State College Pennsylvania, daughter of Charles Bell Lambert and Lillian Beryl Forcey.  She had five brothers and one sister all whom are deceased.

Pat graduated from Sate College High School, State College, PA. She attended college for several years at Penn State University where she met her husband.

Pat married James E Griffin on May 31, 1952.  They lived in Paoli, PA for several years before moving to Rutland, Vermont.

Pat spent many years working as a court stenographer.

Pat an avid golfer, was a member at Proctor Pittsford and for many years would head south to Florida for winter to continue playing golf year-round. She also enjoyed classical music.

Survivors include three sons, James E Griffin III and his wife Patti of Clifton Park, NY; Bruce S Griffin of Brattleboro, VT; and T. Roger Griffin and his wife Karen and son Kyle of Charlton, MA.  Pat had an intense passion for life, there was nothing that she would not do to assist and support her sons and their families.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday May 18, 2019 from 1pm to 3pm at the Clifford Funeral Home.

Pat was a big supporter the Rutland Chapter of  AA sponsoring many individuals struggling with addiction.  Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to Alcoholic Anonymous or VNA Hospice of the Southwest Region in care of the Clifford Funeral Home, 2 Washington St. Rutland, VT 05701.
