BENSON Pauline Edith Apjohn, 77, of Benson, VT, died on November 14, 2024, after a brief illness, at Mountain View Center, surrounded by family.
Pauline was born on September 2, 1947 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Harold and Bernice (Siney) Kleven. She married Navy Lieutenant Commander Thomas Lawrence Apjohn II, on December 21,1968 at the Naval Station Chapel, Newport, RI.
Over the course of her life she preformed many jobs. Everything from telephone operator, and apple orchard supervisor, to Kitchen Designer and One on One aid at the schools. But her favorite jobs were Artist and Mother. She would paint anything that didn’t move, and some things that did. She and Tom owned a craft business and specialized in Tables and Tuffets for Tots and other hand painted items.
She enjoyed spending time with her 3 children and wholeheartedly adored her numerous grandchildren. Pauline loved to read, complete puzzles, play word games, and even though she grumbled about going, loved her community in the Bone Builders Group of Benson.
Pauline was a spicy, loving, huggable, supportive, forgiving, creative and independent spirit who believed in the beauty of love and kindness.
Survivors include her daughters Alice Apjohn of South Carolina, Amy Lannon of Benson, VT, her son, T. Eric Apjohn of Chittenden, VT, her Brother Bob Kleven and family of Washington State, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and many friends.
She was predeceased by both parents; her husband, and a brother Lawrence Kleven.
A service will be held at a future date at Lake Bomoseen.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home.
