Addison- Richard C. Makovec

Richard C, Makovec 61, died early Wednesday morning October 15, 2025 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.

He was born April 19, 1964 in Norwalk, CT the son of Charles H. and Grace (Schlette) Makovec. He spent most of his life at his Lake Dunmore home.

Richard attended Otter Valley Union High School.

He enjoyed swimming, watching western movies and attending Camp Thorpe.

Survivors are his Brother Gary Makovec (Susan), of Orwell, by his two nieces Heather Grier (Kevin), of Middletown Springs, VT and Diana Plumley (John), of Cambridge, VT . Also by his cousins and his caregiver Melody Bell and family.

He was predeceased by his parents and by his brother Donald B. Makovec.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Trinity Episcopal Church on Saturday November 1, 2025 at 11:30 A.M.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Camp Thorpe at 680 Capen Hill Drive Goshen, VT 05733.
