Robert Bordeau

Robert F. Bordeau, 83, of Colchester, VT passed away Sunday May 5, 2024 at Mountain View Center in Rutland VT.

He was born in Rutland, VT on June 20, 1940, the son of Stanton T. and Ellen (Chapleau) Bordeau.

Robert was a graduate of Rutland High School where he excelled in football, basketball, golf & track. In 1959 he held the school track record. He attended the University of Vermont.

He was a 1st Degree karate black belt.  “Bad Ass Bob”

Robert was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and Cuban Crisis. He served six and a half years and was honorably discharged at the rank of SGT E-5 in May of 1966.

He was employed as a corrections officer with the South Burlington Corrections Center and was a printer for 23 years with the Burlington Free Press.

Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly A. Tomkinson (Rick) and Terri A. Pullman (Bryan) of Sarasota, FL, one son, Randy F. Bordeau (Janet) of Venice, FL., five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, niece Christina Bordeau and several other nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Donald E. Bordeau (Carol) and Stanton T. Bordeau and by two sisters, Nancy A. Krupp and Mary A. Fortin

Bob will be sadly missed by his children and family members.

Services will be held Wednesday May 8th at 11:00AM at Clifford Funeral Home.

Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
