Rutland

Robert H. “Bob” Cox, 55, of Rutland, VT passed away surrounded by his adoring family on January 31st .

Bob was born and raised in Rutland, a hard worker from a young age, he attended

Stafford VOTECH school for automotive and graduated from Rutland High School. His love of cars drove him to be an auto mechanic for all of his life, eventually jumping behind the wheel of a tow truck. He opened “Hop To It Towing” and ran the business for 15 years before retiring a happy man.

You could always find Bob near a race car, driving one, fixing one, or watching NASCAR; if it was racing -he loved it. His favorite time of year was February when he, his wife, Audri, and his brother-in-law, Joel, drove to Daytona, FL in their RV for the 500 race.

Bobs favorite place to be was with his family and friends, having a cold one on the porch, fishing, hunting, or shooting the breeze at the shops with the boys.

He was a family man through and through. Nothing gave him greater happiness than spending time with his 5 year old grandson, Logan. Playing cars and trucks, building things, or working in the garage, Pops adored Logan. Bob loved hunting and fishing with his oldest daughter, Alyssa, and always found joy in his favorite hunting mate. When shenanigans were afoot you could guarantee Bob was with his youngest daughter, Lindsey, they were described as two peas in a pod and it showed.

Bobs greatest joy came from the love of his life, his wife of 33 years, and his best friend, Audri. There was never a time when you found Audri without Bob, two pillars of strength standing as one, totally in love with each other. They were high school sweethearts, having been together since they were 16 and 17 years old.

Bob was predeceased by his father, Edward Cox, his parents-in-law, Patricia and Peter Muscatello, his grand daughter, Amelia Cox-Avery, his best friend, Scott Fitzgerald and numerous others. He is survived by his wife, Audri, daughters, Alyssa and Lindsey,  grandson, Logan, and grand pups, Bailey, Wilma and Bodie.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 6th from 4-7pm at Clifford

Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at Grace Congregational Church on Wednesday, February 7th at 1:00pm.  Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home.
