Robert J. Ellison RUTLAND — It is with sad news to share that Robert “Jerry” Jerald Ellison of Rutland, VT passed away with his family by his side on October 14, 2023. He was born on April 22, 1943 in Fort Benning, GA son of Robert and Dorothy Ellison. Jerry grew up in Rutland, graduating from Rutland H.S in 1961. After H.S. Jerry joined the U.S. Air Force and honorable discharged in 1965. After military deployment, Jerry married the love of his life Coral Ellison in May, 1966. Jerry would retire from Verizon after long career as a technician. Jerry enjoyed family events of camping, fishing and travel all over the country. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family at home playing cards, games and watching his favorite New England sports teams. Jerry was an avid reader and shared this passion with his children. He was a proud member of the Rutland local chapter of the V.F.W. Jerry is predeceased by his father and mother Robert and Dorothy Ellison of Rutland, VT and Aunt’s Ruth and Annabelle Ellison of Rutland, VT. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Coral Ellison of Rutland, VT. He is also survived by his daughter Kimberly Napolitano and her husband Bill of Steep Falls, ME, and sons Gregory Ellison of Rutland, VT and Kenneth Ellison and his wife Angela of Arlington, VT. He is also survived by his sisters Carol Ellison of Rutland, VT, Linda Sharp and her husband Fletcher of Plano, TX, Karen Dewey and husband David of Lebanon, NH. He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren Kasey Ellison and his wife Breaunna, Sarah Ellison, Christopher Ellison and Amanda Harmon-Wilson and her husband Bruce, and Dominic Napolitano. He leaves behind many great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly. The family wants to thank all the medical providers and Hospice workers who supported them during this difficult time. In lieu of a formal service a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. Donations in Jerry’s name can be sent to Hospice of Rutland, 7 Albert Cree Road, Rutland, VT 05701.
