Robert F. Emerick

Tinmouth

Rob, (aka Bob) Formerly of Tinmouth, VT was born and raised in Boonton, NJ with great memories of swimming at "old deep hole", being a junior fireman, chasing trains and being free to explore.  He graduated from Boonton High School in 1959 and attended Villanova University.

His life was dedicated to service, which started with the Air Raid Squad in High School and a volunteer fireman in Boonton.  He served proudly as an MP in Vietnam, organized donations for the orphanages while there and achieved several medals of commendation.  His love of Railroading (which was a family trait) landed him working for several different railroads, was on the TV show "Tomorrow" in 1975 for the "Blue Comet Special" and helped start the "Mainline Steam Foundation" with his brother Jack.

Rob was always on the move, working as an investigator for NY County DA's office, NYC Defense Investigative Service & The US Dept. of Labor Operations Review.  He worked tirelessly for "Operation Lifesaver", and organization that focused on pedestrian and auto safety at Railroad crossing.

Growing up, his summers were spent in Middletown Springs, VT at his grandmothers home and eventually his family's second home in Tinmouth, VT where he made the permanent move in 1982.  He going the Rutland PD, Tinmouth Fire Dept. & became a Constable in town.   You couldn't go anywhere with him and not run into several people he knew.  If you knew "Bob", you could always count on hearing one of him many "stories".  He was a kid at heart, loved what the did and was the "Oliver Hardy", to he brother Jack's "Stan Laurel!".

Rob is predeceased by his parents; John (Jack) Emerick, Sr. and Pauline Brady-Emerick.  His brother John (Jack) Emerick, Jr. and niece Mary Beth Emerick.

Survived by his nieces Julie Emerick (Ryan Story) & Kathy Emerick; his nephew Jack Emerick' grandnephew's Zephaniah Story & Jack Emerick; grandniece Natalie Emerick & several cousins.

Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Boonton, NJ.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home.
