Robert K. "Robbie" Scott, III, age 66, died on August 31, 2026 at Mountain View Center in Rutland, VT. He was born in Rutland on April 30, 1960 to Robert K. Scott, Jr. and Patricia A. (Joyce) Scott. Robbie attended Rutland High School and was awarded a GED and then a diploma, to make his mother proud. He was employed at several food service establishments in the greater Rutland area, including Seward's and Sirloin Saloon. Additionally, he drove as a distributor for Frito-Lay and was a long-time employee at Liberty Street Discount Beverage and Deli in Fair Haven, VT. Robbie loved sports. He played baseball in his youth and received a catcher's mitt from Red Sox rookie Carlton "Pudgy" Fisk at an Elks Club banquet in 1972. He continued to be a life-long Red Sox fan. The sport he was most passionate about following was football. Robbie knew players and teams; their stats, their history, their strategies. He was loyal to the NY Jets through all of their ups and downs. Robbie's life was filled with challenges, traumas and loss. This affected both his mental and physical health, leading to disability at an early age. Despite the hardships, Robbie had friends and family who stood by him. He was always hopeful for the future and satisfied with what he had.

Robbie is survived by one sister, Mary Reta Scott of San Diego, CA and Bomoseen, VT. Other survivors include a niece and nephew, a great niece and nephew, aunts, and several cousins. He leaves behind his special friends Jack and Shantel Gregory, their mother Daphne, and Barry Doane who provided support and companionship through his most difficult times. Robbie was predeceased by his parents, his younger brother Brian J. Scott, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends including his long-time buddy Kevin Flynn. Community services helped Robbie maintain his quality of life for as long as possible. Gratitude is due to many including; the state of Vermont, Rutland Mental Health, Southwestern Council on Aging, VNA and Hospice of the Southwest Region, Bayada Home Health, Rutland Regional Medical Center providers, Community Health Castleton and Rutland, Mountain View Center and all of the caring members of the organizations.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 11am in the Calvary Cemetery, 150 Meadow St, Rutland. Robbie's brother Brian Scott will be laid to rest at the same time.
