Roger J. Dumas

Rutland - Roger J. Dumas, 74, of Rutland died Thursday, February 8 at his home.

Roger was born in Proctor on May 18, 1949 the son of Archible and Laura (Canapa) Dumas.

He attended Proctor high school graduating in 1967 and attended the University of Vermont and Lyndon State College graduating in 1972.

He married Mary Jean Leonard on July 31st, 1976.

For many years he was the owner/operator of H&R Block in Rutland.

Roger was a member of Christ the King Church. He enjoyed spending time with family, collecting along with buying and selling model trains. He also enjoyed photography in earlier years taking many photos of weddings.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jean; a son, Kevin his wife Hannah Dumas along with their children Walton, Molly, Nettie of Brunswick ME; a daughter Laura and her wife Jackie Cluemas of San Diego CA.

He is predeceased by both of his parents.

Visiting hours will be held from 9 AM to 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Clifford Funeral Home.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, February 13 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

Burial will follow in the spring.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home.
