He had two lovely marriages. The first began in Palo Alto, California, with Robbie
Kristi VanHoute in June 1969, and they brought three beautiful children into the
world. The second was in Vancouver, Washington, on June 02, 1985, with Debra
Douglas, the love of his life for 40 years, and enjoyed two boys who loved him like
a father.

years and was honorably discharged in 1970.
The Christian faith played a significant role in Ron’s life. His connection with Lord
Jesus Christ was strong and guided him through this lovely world.
Ronald honed his skills for decades as a Master Carpenter and Journeyman.
His true passion was music, starting at a young age. From his school marching
band to his high school music group, Ron sharpened his expertise as a singer and drummer. The Rocketones was his premier band in high school. Later, he joined Jimmy T and the Cobras, where he played drums. Ron’s love for country music guided him to Country Western bands throughout his life. He loved karaoke and marched and drummed in the Fort Vancouver Pipe Band, where he represented
the Douglas Clan crest and tartan from his Scottish heritage. Most recently, he played bass at the Fiddler’s Gatherings in Middlebury, Vermont.
Ron is survived by his wife Debra Douglas, by his three children, LakshmiGrace
Phoenix, aka Mary Elizabeth Douglas (Wolf Phoenix), Jonah Douglas, and Matthew
Douglas, and by his step-children Jeffrey Fowler (Teresa) and Justin Hawes.

When I am down and my soul, so weary
When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then I am still and wait here in the silence
Until You come and sit awhile with me
You raise me up so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on Your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be
