Russell Howe, of Rutland Town, Vermont, passed away on December 10, 2025. Born in Chester, Vermont, he was the son of Nelson Paul Howe and Dorothy Cook (Houghton).
Russell proudly served his country in Vietnam as Corpman and later attended Temple University in Philadelphia. He participated in the Dartmouth Medex Project and dedicated his career to healthcare as a Physician Assistant for Florida Healthcare. After retiring, he returned to his beloved Vermont, where he enjoyed the peace and quiet of the lake.
He had a deep love for fishing and reading, and he cherished sharing stories with family and friends.
Russell is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Howe (Lenz); his children, Stacey Wiggins (Howe) and Christopher Howe; his sister, Becky Howe; and his grandchildren, Abby, Madison, Dalton, Griffin, and Alanna.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Ben Howe, his stepfather Winston Cook, and his stepbrother Milan Cook.
A memorial service will be planned in the future to celebrate Russell’s life.
